In Big Arnie’s golden years, he quipped one-liners in movies. Total Recall is one example. He takes out the antagonist Richter (Michael Ironside) and lands a doozy.
And he makes many Arnold noises along the way. However, there were other one-lines available to quip. Let’s see some of the ones not in use, eh?
See you at the party, Richter!
The original in all its depraved glory. Douglas Quaid really is a bit of a prat in the film. He goes around wiping people out, then cockily quipping daft one-liners. For shame!
See you at the party, Prickter!
This adds an extra layer of insult here. As the bloke, armless, plunges to his doom he has this thing hurled at him as well. Bad times for Richter.
See you at the party, prick!
This one gets straight to the point. No messing about with this bad boy.
See ewes at the party, Richter!
Ewes are welcome at any party! Lovely animals. Much better than yew trees.
See yews at the party, Richter!
Yes, well, fine. Yew trees are welcome, too.
See you at the barbie, Richter!
Mate, how’s he going to attend a barbecue? He’s plunging to his death! Plus… no arms! How’s he going to eat burgers and protein shakes with those things? Think logically!
See Hugh at the party, Richter!
Who? Hugh Laurie? If he’s there, then that’s a party worth attending!
See corkscrews at the party, Richter!
Truth. Nothing is worse than a party with wine bottles and now openers. And you have to try and wrench the cork out with your teeth. Bad hosting!
See fondue at the party, Richter!
Really… fondue? What is it, 1992? Oh, yes, well… two years after the film was made. Fair enough!
See home brew at the party, Richter!
Rock on, man! Damn straight! Hell yeah! Whoo! Spring break!
See you at the party, Richter magnitude scale!
Yes, nothing beats letting your hair down like measuring the magnitude of earthquakes.
Deja vu at the party, Richter!
Okay. How does that work, exactly? Most parties are the same:
- Obnoxiously loud music.
- Drunk people.
- Vomit on stairways.
- Cake that no one eats.
So, yeah, deja vu! You stating the obvious Terminator monstrosity, you!
Pee-ew at the party, Richter!
Why, does Richter smell? Mate, have some consideration for the guy’s feelings, yeah? Telling him he stinks will make him feel bad.
Telephone interview at the party, Richter!
Really? Christ, you just escape the onslaught of capitalism these days…
Hullabaloo at the party, Richter!
Yeah, probably, parties are noted for their general lack of social conformity.
I will not be seeing you at the party, Richter, as you are plunging to your death.
Accurate, that. We find Quaid’s statement somewhat vacuous. Seeing as Richter won’t be making it to any parties. As he’ll be splattered on the ground somewhere.
