The Joys of Annoying AI With Stupid Prompts 😐

The joys of annoying AI with stupid prompt ideas

In amongst all the negative talk about AI (artificial intelligence) there has been a glorious thing for us. One of constant silliness and laughing ourselves stupid.

Annoying the hell out of at with dumb prompts.

This was our immediate reaction to AI when it started emerging circa June 2023. We did some stories (see ChatGPT and The Adventures of Celine Dion). Then we went into a world of secretive, malicious AI annoyance!

This is a casual thing we do, usually after work when we’re tired and just want to goof around. And so for 30 minutes to an hour we ask AI the most idiotic and ridiculous things we can think of. Its stoic and sensible responses and justifications often make for comedy gold. Hurray!

How to Wind Up Artificial Intelligence With Dumb Prompts

It takes a seasoned pro to manage this with cool aplomb. If you try in the likes of ChatGPT or Google Gemini you may fall a little flat to begin with.

The AI can see through your silly façade—unless you style prompts in the right way. The best approach is to:

  1. Pose some absurd subversion of social norms
  2. Frame it is a question so as to appear in need of assistance
  3. Escalate the scenario as the AI responds

For example, recently we posted one good example in our Stories to our millions of Instagram followers. This is the gem.

Gemini prompt about bleach and strawberry bon bons

Google Gemini informed us one of the reasons our mate was angry is because of this.

“There is no logical connection between bleach and strawberry bon bons.”

That is the mantra by which we now live our lives.

Yet there’s one area in particular where we’ve revelled in our annoying habits. One area where we’ve gone ballistic to explore the depths of irritations and bizarre subversions of social norms.

AI’s Concept of Job Interviews and the Business World

Exploring the world of work is a glorious aspect of winding up AI. We’ve done hundreds of these, largely in recruitment phases to see how it responds.

Job interviews are just perfect for being ridiculous. To pretend to have done the type of things you would never, ever do in an interview (or face serious professional consequences).

Here’s a good example, with the concept of bringing a chainsaw into a job interview.

You then escalate things with a more alarming development.

To which the AI remonstrates with you and, in plain English (to its credit), states you’re coming across as a bit of a deranged lunatic.

Across our various escapades with AI, we’ve had the likes of Google Gemini (previously Google Bard) threaten to call the cops on us. It also lists out American mental health support numbers and tells you that you’re, essentially, having a psychotic episode.

Naturally, we find all that very amusing.

You can download the Gemini app and it stores all your favourite sessions in one place. Ideal for continued amusement whether commuting, on a break, or procrastinating.

AI as a Champion of Irreverence

It says a lot about our sense of persistent irreverence here at Professional Moron.

That this technology can come along, pose a serious existential threat to many industries, also present an opportunity to learn and develop as humans, and we use it instead as a chance to arse around.

And goof around we shall! We also encourage you to do the same. Many laughs guaranteed. It’s an accepting world where no matter your sense of humour, you can bend AI to your humorous whim.

Let your mischievous side loose! It’ll be a merry development in thine life.
